2025 Partnership

Partner with Legacy

Legacy Partners is the largest group in the church because it essentially is "The Church". When you become a partner you are saying that this is where the Lord has planted you for 2025. We partner for one year at a time because we know God is doing new things all the time and locations, assignments, and circumstances change.

When you become a Legacy Partner you are making a commitment to 3 things:

1 - That you want to follow Jesus and be transformed by Him. Following Jesus means moving away from where you are spiritually to be where He is. It means you want to learn to do what He wants you to, knowing He will do it with you.

2 - You are not meant to follow Jesus alone. Partners are in it together. We make being together as a church on Sunday a weekly priority (not a possibility) and we grow together by being a part of a Life Group, or Care Group in the church.

3 - That you will help accomplish the mission. Partners share in the work of the church by serving, and share in the investment of the church through regular giving.

To understand who we know Jesus to be and what our mission is, you need to read What We Believe as a church. (follow the link and scroll down)

Important Note: You may notice that we don't require you to agree with everything we believe to become a Legacy Partner. What we want is for you to follow the Jesus we know. Believing everything about Jesus before you start following Him isn't realistic (or even biblical). Like the disciples Jesus called in the Bible, He answers our questions as we follow Him. If you are reading this you probably know enough already to believe that He is the only one worth following. Don't mistake our openness to people following Jesus for uncertainly about who Jesus is. We are uncompromising when it comes to who Jesus has revealed Himself to be in scripture and we follow Him by obeying His word.

Seven Questions for the Year of Our Lord

#1 - What is God Saying to us?

We are to be a church that gives it’s self away

A “Legacy” is an interesting thing. Legacy is built not on what you keep or control but on what you give away. The more you give away the more Legacy you have. The Lord has called his church to give itself away. The more we give ourselves away the more we find out who we are. The more of ourselves we find in Christ the more we have to give away. The more we give our church away, our time, talents, ideas, money, staff, buildings….whatever he has given to us, the more He continues to entrusts to us!

Luke 6:38 (ESV)

“give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

#2 - What is God wanting to do through us that we want to do?

 We want to be generous and bless others

 We want to be a part of people’s lives being transformed by Jesus

 We want to see miracles of healing, miracles, of grace, miracles of salvation, miracles of provision.

 We want to participate in the story of his Glory.

#3 - What is God wanting to do through us that we DO NOT want to do?

 Be inconvenienced for others

 Give ourselves away. Or spend what we have been given on others

  • Our Time
  • Our Attention
  • Our Affection
  • Our Resources

#4 - What is God asking us to stop doing or to quit?

 Stop Making excuses - for why we don’t do what we know he wants us to do

  • Did God Really say….?
  • Now is not a great time
  • I’m not equipped
  • I’m not gifted
  • I’m not good enough

 Stop distracting ourselves with lesser things

  • This can be anything you choose to do that distracts you from what God asked you to do

 Stop putting off our obedience

  • Whatever God asks you to do will be inconvenient and/or uncomfortable. It will never feel like a “Good Time”. The right time to obey is immediately.

 Stop waiting for your Pastors to ask you.

  • You don’t need us to ask your pastors if it’s ok for you to follow Jesus. You don’t need them to

ask you. You are not called to follow your pastors. You are called to follow Jesus. Your Pastor’s

job is to help you do that.

#5 - What is God asking us to do that is NEW?

 This is not something we fully know because it is being spoken to the people of the church.

 We do know that much of what God wants to do will be focused on people outside the church.

 A couple of things we think He might be asking us to do are:

  • A regular neighborhood food distribution
  • Laundromat Ministry
  • VBS with other churches
  • Light Party on Halloween
  • Holiday Lentil Soup dinner for the neighborhood with Hayrides

#6 - What is God asking for more of that is not new?

The things the Lord has asked us to do over the last 7 years are all things that need to continue and grow. Below are the themes we have heard from the Lord in the previous years.

 2024 - Unity of purpose with God through Jesus. Unity or purpose with each other at Legacy Unity of purpose with the Churches in the City.

 2023 – To raise the temperature of Evangelism in ourselves, in our church, and in the city

 2022 – Legacy Loves God, Loves each other, Loves our city

 2021 – Pray and Obey

 2018 - 2020

  • Be Fearless to follow Jesus
  • Help others find and follow Jesus too
  • Not be a place, or a program, but a people
  • Help every person find their purpose and passion
  • Launch ministries and missions
  • Be active in our community
  • No longer mobile but mobilized

#7 - What does success look like for us from God’s Perspective?

Faithfulness to hear the Lord and obey what He is asking us to do IS SUCCESS!

The result of our faithfulness will be the transformation of lives moving beyond ourselves and spilling over into our families, our neighborhoods, and our workplaces. When we are faithful to obey we will see people surrendering to Jesus and being baptized.

A Sign: When you see this sign you’ll know God is pleased.

“When you are being faithful to follow Jesus and give yourself away and the person next you giving

themselves away wasn’t apart of God’s family when we started the year”
